<description>I think your frame of mind is just part of american culture. We always think about how things could be better and more importantly how others have it better. We think about the popular person with seemingly limitless friends or the person in a seemingly seinfeld like tight group and wonder why we don't have that.

But we just see the exterior. We just see the public face. But even if what we see is reality it shouldn't matter. The problem is our narcissism and selfishness (this is not a knock on you--i and the vast vast majority of western culture experience the same feelings). Being raised in a part of the world of plenty and freedom gives us a sense of unwarranted entitlement.

We're entitled only to the pursuit of happiness--not just happiness. The pursuit is a bitch though and often leads to the total opposite of what you intended. You joined the army to get money and finish school and ended up in a sandy country inhabited with a lot of people who would have liked you to die.

Not sure how to end this but by saying play the hand youre dealt. Wishing you had better cards isn't going to help you win the pot of life.
